It was a beautifully warm day in Lake Tahoe. A perfect day to kayak for the first time.  We contacted Tahoe City Kayaks to see if they could set  our family up with a few kayaks.  They had plenty of double and single kayaks available and even allowed dogs on board.

We drove 20mins north from Sugar Pine Point SP to Tahoe City and parked near the pier.  We rented out kayaks for 3 hours, brought a picnic lunch, borrowed their dry bags for our backpack and went over the basics of kayaking.
We were set to go.  We paddled down the coast line stopping for lunch, to play on the beach and trade partners and boats several times. The water was shallow and clear.  It was so warm and lovely. We all had a blast and look forward to kayaking again.  

We really appreciated the kind and helpful folks at Tahoe City Kayaks and for allowing us to bring Lady aboard.  If you are ever in the area, rent a kayak and get out on the so very blue water of Tahoe.
